Overview

Champion Motors needed to strengthen customer relationships beyond the purchase moment. Champ was designed as a unified digital service hub connecting drivers, vehicles and services across the ownership lifecycle.

A View of the App

The app supports onboarding, vehicle status, alerts, service channels and maintenance booking - adapted to different vehicle connectivity levels.

What made it complex?

Champ looked like one mobile app, but behind it was a layered service ecosystem: vehicle data, CRM records, order status, service-center operations, security constraints and an external connectivity vendor.

The UX challenge was to turn that complexity into clear, relevant actions for each driver.

My Role & Process

I led the UX process from research and discovery to product requirements, flows, wireframes and developer documentation, working across Champion, Firma, developers and the connectivity vendor.

The Core Challenge

One app had to create value across different drivers, vehicles, systems and service scenarios — while supporting Champion’s shift into a digital product.

  • Overcoming Negative Brand Associations

For many customers, Champion Motors appeared mainly at stressful moments: repairs, payments and car trouble.

  • Creating Value for Every Driver

Existing white-label apps served only connected vehicles. The new app had to create value for every driver - and for the business.

  • Driving Digital Transformation

Champion Motors needed to shift from phone-based service processes to an integrated digital product, aligning teams, systems and vendors.

Research & Discovery

I mapped Champion Motors’ service ecosystem, customer touchpoints and internal systems to define the app’s product direction.

  • Stakeholder Interviews
  • Service-call Listening
  • Design Thinking
  • Competitive Research
  • User Interviews
  • Cross-Organizational Discovery

This helped align teams, define the MVP and turn organizational knowledge into clear product opportunities.

Solution 02

Turning maintenance into a proactive digital journey

Maintenance became a proactive journey: users could enter booking from vehicle status, reminders, warning-light guides or service areas, turning phone-based scheduling into a guided digital flow.

Booking maintenance appointment Flow

This flow turns maintenance booking from a phone-based service into a guided digital journey. It connects service centers to Champion’s systems, helps users book appointments more easily, and encourages timely maintenance through reminders and malfunction alerts.
